Privacy
This notice explains which personal data is processed when you use Airline.live, why, and for how long (Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698, KVKK, Article 10). You do not have to accept it; your consent for analytics is asked for separately.
In short
- You do not need an account; we do not ask for your name, e-mail, phone or location.
- The site’s software does not write your IP address to logs or to disk; the analytics app and the server infrastructure are covered below.
- Visit statistics are collected only if you agree.
- The site’s own records are kept for at most 30 days; the two exceptions are listed below, under “Retention periods”.
- Your data is not sold and is not used for advertising.
Data controller
The data controller is the site’s content provider (a natural person). Imprint: Contact.
- Name
- EMIN DEMIRCI
- info@airline.live
Data processed, purposes and legal grounds
When you open the site
- What
- The IP address, browser information (User-Agent) and requested address that your browser sends with every request.
- Purpose
- Sending the pages and the live data, keeping the service secure and limiting excessive requests.
- Legal ground
- Legitimate interest (KVKK Article 5(2)(f)).
- How long
- The site’s software processes the IP address in memory during the request only and does not store it. For the rate limit, a salted, irreversible digest of the IP address is kept for 1 minute; the copy of the digest on disk is deleted within 1 day at the latest after that time. The site’s own logs contain only the request method, the path without its query, the response code and the duration.
When you make your analytics choice
- What
- The “hy_consent” cookie; it records only whether you agreed.
- Purpose
- Remembering your choice and not showing the consent banner again.
- Legal ground
- Strictly necessary to apply the choice you made; contains nothing that identifies you.
- How long
- 180 days; kept on your device, with no copy on the server.
When you change map settings
- What
- Label, aircraft list and airport window preferences (browser storage).
- Purpose
- Remembering your settings.
- Legal ground
- Strictly necessary for the feature you asked for; never sent to the server.
- How long
- On your device until you clear it.
If you agree to analytics
- What
- A random visitor ID and session ID; the addresses of the pages you visit, the page you came from, browser information, language, time zone, screen size, time spent on the page and, if known, the country. Like any server, the analytics server sees the request’s IP address but does not store it. Our measurement script sends a random ID created in your browser with every request; if browser storage is blocked, a new ID is created on each page load. The analytics app can use a value derived from the IP address as the ID for requests that carry no ID; our script never takes that path.
- Purpose
- Measuring visit statistics to improve the site.
- Legal ground
- Explicit consent (KVKK Article 5(1)). You can withdraw it at any time with the “Analytics preferences” button; measurement stops when you do.
- How long
- The IDs are stored on your device: the visitor ID stays until you clear it, the session ID is deleted when you close the tab. The measurement records, with the IDs, are kept in our own analytics app. That app currently keeps them without a time limit.
When you e-mail us
- What
- Your e-mail address, your name if you give it and the content of your message.
- Purpose
- Answering your request: a hide request, a personal data request or any other matter.
- Legal ground
- Compliance with a legal obligation (KVKK Article 5(2)(ç)) and legitimate interest (Article 5(2)(f)).
- How long
- At most 30 days after the request is concluded.
If you are an administrator
- What
- Your e-mail address, your session record and the administrative actions you take.
- Purpose
- Letting you sign in to the admin panel and keeping a record of the actions taken.
- Legal ground
- Legitimate interest (KVKK Article 5(2)(f)).
- How long
- Sessions last 7 days; the copy of a session on disk is deleted within 1 day at the latest after that time. In the action log your e-mail address is replaced by your role (for example “owner”) within 30 days at the latest; the entry stays as a record of due care.
Aircraft data
The live map shows data from the ADS-B signals that aircraft broadcast. The data comes from the ADSB.lol network (ODbL 1.0); it is not obtained from aircraft owners, operators or passengers.
Only aircraft flying under a known airline callsign are published. We try not to publish or store military, state and private aircraft (business jets included) or aircraft in the PIA and LADD programmes; the detection rules are not perfect.
For published aircraft we keep a flight record (hex code, callsign, registration, type, first and last seen time) and a position track; unless a legal hold is open, they are deleted after at most 30 days (see “Retention periods”). Detailed method: Open data.
This data mostly belongs to airlines’ aircraft. If an aircraft can be linked to a natural person, its data may count as personal data; the legal ground for processing it is legitimate interest (KVKK Article 5(2)(f)): presenting, for information, the aviation signals that aircraft broadcast publicly.
If you do not want an aircraft to be shown, you can send a hide request: Hide request.
Transfers
- The site runs on a server in a data centre of its hosting provider, Hostinger, in Frankfurt, Germany. Requests that reach the server and the records in this notice are processed there; this may count as a transfer abroad under KVKK Article 9. The data transferred is kept to a minimum: the site’s software does not store IP addresses, there are no accounts and analytics only runs with consent.
- E-mails you send us are kept on the servers of Hostinger, the provider of our domain’s e-mail service. These servers may be outside Türkiye; this may count as a transfer abroad under KVKK Article 9.
- Your browser fetches the map imagery directly from the providers: satellite imagery from Esri, the vector map and country borders from OpenFreeMap (through Cloudflare). These requests send your IP address and browser information to those providers, and their privacy terms apply. Our server does not proxy these requests.
- The analytics app is our own and runs on the same server; the data is not passed to another company.
- Where the law requires it, data may be given to the competent public authorities.
- The connection logs of the server infrastructure (Dokploy and Traefik) are outside the site’s software; we are checking that they are switched off or kept for at most 30 days.
Cookies and browser storage
No advertising cookies and no tracking cookies of other companies are used. The site uses only the following:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration | Party |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| hy_consent | Cookie | Your analytics choice | 180 days | First party |
| hy_admin | Cookie | Administrator session; admin panel only | 7 days | First party |
| hy:map:labels | Local storage (localStorage) | Map label settings | Until you clear it | First party |
| hy:map:projection | Local storage (localStorage) | World view setting (Globe or Flat) | Until you clear it | First party |
| hy:map:list | Local storage (localStorage) | Whether the aircraft list is open or closed | Until you clear it | First party |
| hy:map:popup-autoplay | Local storage (localStorage) | Automatic switching preference in the airport window | Until you clear it | First party |
| ays_visitor_id | Local storage (localStorage) | Analytics: random visitor ID | Until you clear it | First party; only if you agree |
| ays_session_id | Session storage (sessionStorage) | Analytics: random session ID | Deleted when the tab is closed | First party; only if you agree |
Retention periods
The site’s own records are kept for at most 30 days; daily jobs delete records that have expired. There are two deliberate exceptions. The blocklist of hidden aircraft (hex code and registration) is kept for as long as the aircraft stays hidden, because removing an entry would publish the aircraft again; the list holds no names or contact details. A legal hold is opened when there is an official request for information, a court order or a duty to preserve evidence, and deletion stops while it lasts.
| Record | Deleted after | Oldest record |
|---|---|---|
| Flight records (published aircraft) | 29 days | 30 days |
| 30-second track | 7 days | 8 days |
| Full-resolution track | 29 days | 30 days |
| Live map (in memory only) | 30 minutes | 32 minutes |
| Rate limit counters (IP digest) | 1 minute | 1 day 1 minute |
| Administrator sessions | 7 days | 8 days |
| Administrator e-mail in the action log | 29 days | 30 days |
“Oldest record” is the longest age a record can reach, including the time until an expired record is deleted.

Under KVKK Article 11 you have the right to:
- learn whether your personal data is processed
- request information about it if it is
- learn the purpose of the processing and whether the data is used for that purpose
- know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom it is transferred
- ask for it to be corrected if it is incomplete or wrong
- ask for it to be erased or destroyed
- ask for corrections, erasure or destruction to be notified to the third parties the data was transferred to
- object to a result against you that comes solely from automated analysis of the data
